What defines me…
I’m a loving and slightly demanding wife, a flailing but nurturing mother, a supporting yet forthright daughter, a loyal but often distracted friend, a cheeky sister, a fabulous fun aunty, a hard working and bolshy colleague, a polite customer and an occasionally generous stranger.
I’m the happiest married woman I know. My husband (RoosterDaddy) treats me like a princess, but brings me back down to earth when I need it…mostly daily. I’m enormously proud of the fact that I have close friends from my school days and every job I’ve had since. I had an amazing childhood and family life, but I really struggled in adulthood when my parents divorced and I spent a good few years bitter and twisted.
For me being a mum is challenging but enormously rewarding. My toddler daughter is a true reflection of both the best and worst of my husband and I. She is super smart, a master negotiator, has a terrible diet, very set opinions about what she wants, and is hands down the stubbornest person I have every met. Every day I look at her with love, and learn more about myself. I’m also blessed with a second baby girl who is a brilliant little sleeper and gives me the most beautiful smiles in the world
I’ve always been on the voluptuous side so accessorising is my thing. I love my bling, I love my costume jewellery and I love the stories behind the eclectic pieces I’ve collected from all over the globe (from Sri Lanka to the local Westfield). My mortgage and child care expenses have serious curbed my shoes, handbags and pretty things shopping habits so my focus is now more on versatility and value.

About Lady Thinking
Thinking keeps me awake at night. It’s not stress, or worry. It’s just thinking. I figure if I am going to be awake in the middle of the night with my thoughts, I may as well share them, and use my bouts of insomnia as an opportunity to be more productive.
I think a lot about the important stuff in life like the relationships with our partners, family and friends. I use my thinking time to maintain a positive outlook. I need to remind myself to be grateful for my family, and their health. I’ve got a lot to be grateful for. It’s about making the most of what you’ve got. Being fabulous in your own unique way. Turning everyday ordinary into moments of wonderful. Recognising that we can’t all be superwoman every day and celebrating the moments when the planets align and we actually get our shit together.
obsess think a lot about accessories and pretty things. The stories behind the jewellery. Because only a woman can share the love of a shoe or a handbag. Men will never understand why this stuff is important, or why you can never have enough diamonds.
I’m starting Lady Thinking because I’ve been thinking about doing my own blog for a while. No more thinking time to act. I hope that by getting my thoughts written down it will help me sleep. I hope that the more writing I do, the more naturally it will come to me. I hope that within three years I will be able to justify a ladies trip to BlogHer in New York. It’s good to have a goal.
